The official podcast of MovieZeal.com, where film is always best discussed under the gentle influence of fine wine (as fine as $10 will get you). Each week Evan, Heather, and Luke pick a theme, discuss a theatrical release based on that theme, pop the cork and drink a wine that fits said theme, and finally subject one another to The Gauntlet, where forcing others to watch painful films nets you fabulous prizes. There is not anything else on the internets like it (literally).

I've made it my goal in life to track down a copy of Roger Corman's no-budget version. It's got to be better than the two recent ones. :)

Whoa whoa whoa! I realize I'm late to the party here, but let's not get crazy. Luke, Punisher did not suck. Sure, it was cheesy and the acting could have been better at times. But nothing beats that classic moment when the main character confronts the main villain in the parking lot.
Villain: You killed my son.
A scream and an explosion are heard in the background
Punisher: Both of them.

I, on the other had are far more concerned with how long it'll take to make one Fantastic Four movie that has something, or anything, good about it.

At the risk of getting myself banished, I kind of liked Ang Lee's Hulk. Don't get me wrong on this--he screwed up all the important parts of a superhero movie (i.e., the action sequences). But as a Freudian monster drama, I thought it worked pretty well. If nothing else, it was different enough to hold my interest.

I'm kind of wondering now--is Marvel so determined to immortalize all of their characters in celluloid that they'll remake every film until it doesn't suck? And if so, how many tries do you think it'll take them to get The Punisher right? (I'm guessing eight or nine.) :)

Yes, yes, yes. I watched this yesterday and couldn't be happier. Abomination looks pretty freaky, though.

Question, though. I can't figure out if it's a reboot or a sorta-sequel. Any ideas?
