I absolutely loved BENJAMIN BUTTON and will soon review it; VALKYRE not even quite a guilty pleasure to my eyes–mainly laughable; and FROST/NIXON was a solid achievement.

Everyone MUST see Benjamin Button. One of the most ambitious films of the year. And that is one swank Photoshop job, Luke. Actually, I'm quite impressed. I feel all Christmassy inside. And what is with the glut of releases on Christmas day? Do the studios think that every single American goes to a movie on Christmas? These films won't make any money at all (except for Bedtime Stories, which is going to slay the box office) because they'll all be spread too thin. It's too bad. Benjamin Button needs to be seen by a larger audience, and it will probably get lost in the noise. And Phillip, you're dead on about Gran Torino. What was Eastwood thinking? His performance is fun and all, but the movie surrounding it is one of the most amateur things I've ever seen. Shameful stuff.

Man, what’s wrong with you? How is it that The Spirit, which while it may be unnecessary, looks insanely cool, gets beat out by every other movie that matters? If you can’t understand why we need as many adaptations of as many comic books as possible by this point in your life, then there’s really no hope for you.

Nice to see Eastwood try to kick some butt in Gran Torino, but the script feels like a mixture of some bad drafts from a beginning screenwriting class. Oh, and Eastwood sings.
