The official podcast of MovieZeal.com, where film is always best discussed under the gentle influence of fine wine (as fine as $10 will get you). Each week Evan, Heather, and Luke pick a theme, discuss a theatrical release based on that theme, pop the cork and drink a wine that fits said theme, and finally subject one another to The Gauntlet, where forcing others to watch painful films nets you fabulous prizes. There is not anything else on the internets like it (literally).

Thanks Alexander. Yeah, I was a little puzzled by the release date as well -- but then again, the wintry and apocalyptic themes fit strangely well with the Christmas season.

But yeah, "uninspired" would be an accurate assessment. I admit, though, I still have my hopes up for Paradise Lost, particularly as he says he's in talks with Guillermo del Toro about visual design. :)

Terrific review, Luke, of a film I doubt I will ever see. I actually liked The Exorcism of Emily Rose, too: my film professor showed it to a class I was in. I have to admit, I was taken aback by his selection but it proved to be a rather effective amalgamation of two stimulating narrative strands.

This just looks entirely uninspired, though. Maybe if this were the middle of June rather than the middle of December, I'd venture out and give it a try, as I did with the new Hulk movie. Again, though, a very well-reasoned and passionate review.
