The official podcast of MovieZeal.com, where film is always best discussed under the gentle influence of fine wine (as fine as $10 will get you). Each week Evan, Heather, and Luke pick a theme, discuss a theatrical release based on that theme, pop the cork and drink a wine that fits said theme, and finally subject one another to The Gauntlet, where forcing others to watch painful films nets you fabulous prizes. There is not anything else on the internets like it (literally).

I quite enjoyed this film because of the energy that it gives off and reflects from the students. Usually, films of the similar genre (Etre et avoir, la Graine et le Mulet) do not have a real grip on the audience because of the lack of music, and cinematographical technnique that the audience usually expects from a film. But Entre les Murs does keep the audience involved and interested throughout a documentary-type analysis of a year in a french banlieue school.
The performances from the actors, being unprofessional, are incredible and so real.
However, I do think background knowledge on the reality of french banlieue and the education system is needed to fully comprehend the impact of this film.
