The official podcast of MovieZeal.com, where film is always best discussed under the gentle influence of fine wine (as fine as $10 will get you). Each week Evan, Heather, and Luke pick a theme, discuss a theatrical release based on that theme, pop the cork and drink a wine that fits said theme, and finally subject one another to The Gauntlet, where forcing others to watch painful films nets you fabulous prizes. There is not anything else on the internets like it (literally).

Just treated ourselves to a light-hearted evening of National Treasure: Book of Secrets. It did have a strong "Indy" feel to it, especially in the "I'm a geek and know a lot of history and can make complicated deductions on the spot" but I'm cool enough to jet around the world to exotic locations and be an interesting conversationalist. However, some of the dialogue was pretty inane. When the President is asked at the end about The Book, his response: "What book?" Hmmm, should have seen that coming. But as a warm up for the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones romp through the world of archeology, it did the trick.

Hey! I remember the first one - and I remember liking it! I actually didn't see it in the theater, but did see it about 50 times on Starz.

Seriously, I can't stand Nicolas Cage, but I thought it was just fun and silly enough to stand in for, well, the next Indiana Jones. I'm not comparing them, I'm just almost comparing them. Anyways, the first National Treasure is a lot better, but this one isn't horrific or anything.
