The official podcast of MovieZeal.com, where film is always best discussed under the gentle influence of fine wine (as fine as $10 will get you). Each week Evan, Heather, and Luke pick a theme, discuss a theatrical release based on that theme, pop the cork and drink a wine that fits said theme, and finally subject one another to The Gauntlet, where forcing others to watch painful films nets you fabulous prizes. There is not anything else on the internets like it (literally).

@soundtrackgeek: That's interesting...I hadn't noticed that until you pointed it out. It looks like this is his first (produced) script, but that he and Emmerich are already working together on 2012, yet another movie named after a year...I can't wait. :)

@Thadd: That's definitely quite a bit more than I could remember about The Day After Tomorrow. Color me impressed. You get a gold star.

Does "The guy played by Donnia Darko who was really good at Calculus" count as naming a character in The Day After Tomorrow?

Funny that this movie is ripping off other people's work. When I did the review for the score by Harald Closer (Co-writer to this movie), I mentioned that it steals like no movie score I've ever heard. Even so, the score was entertaining.

I think I want to see this anyway, because the composer wrote the movie, and it will be interesting to see that and I also hope for an interview or something that tells us of the process behind that.

I thought I was hard in my review of this film. You go for the director's throat. Good review.

I tend to be a bit generous with the stars, I guess. I usually figure that if I find any redeeming value in a film, it's worth a couple. And come on...this one let me see a freaking MAMMOTH!!! :)

Hi, Luke ...

Good review, funny stuff. I reviewed it over at my own site here.

If I gave star ratings, I wouldn't even give it 3 and a half, maybe only one ...

Anyway, welcome to the Lamb!

I'm writing a review for this film myself. This film is Apocalypto super-lite. This was the biggest waste of time I have had in the theater since Crank.

Great review. I love seeing interviews with Dino DeLaurentis. He always makes himself out to be such a serious artist, but the movies he produces prove that it's all a lie.

Even so, he did give us Lynch's Blue Velvet.
