Yeah…probably. That is a funny movie, though.

I think my perspective on it is a bit different, though…being that I’ve had to go through life with people constantly saying “La-la-la-Luuuuke!” to me.

Wow, another brave journey – not just to a RedBox, but to Missouri.

Just kidding, I lived in Springfield for a couple years growing up.

When is Anna Faris going to act in a movie that doesn’t play exclusively to stoned 18-22 year old frat boys?

Anyway, is it just me, or have I seen Tommy Boy WAY too many times? Literally anytime I hear or see the phrase “driving along,” the following scene takes place in my mind:
“Like, let’s say you’re driving along the road with your family. You’re drivin’ along, drivin’ along, la-de-da, woo. All of a sudden there’s a truck tire in the middle of the road. And you hit the brakes. EEEEEEEEE! Whoa, that was close. Ha-ha. Now let’s see what happens when you’re driving with the “other guy’s” brake pads. You’re drivin’ along, you’re drivin’ along, the kids start shouting from the back seat, “I gotta go to the bathroom, Daddy!” “Not now, damn it!” Truck tire. EEEEEEEE! I CAN’T STOP!”

I think it’s probably just me.

Anyone here seen Mysterious Skin (the film Greg Araki made before this one)? Probably the hardest movie-watching experience I’ve had. So graphic and heartbreaking … I couldn’t shake it for about two months. I’m guessing Smiley Face was nothing at all like it.

I tend to agree. Faris is a talented comedienne, but at some point your movie has to actually go somewhere. That said, I’m still leaning towards a thumbs-up on this one, just because. I should add, though, that my wife hated it. Stoner comedy just isn’t her genre.

I laughed at Smiley Face for a good 20 or 30 minutes and then it just kind of ran out of gas for me. When you’re straight, stoned people are only funny for so long.
