Mystery Poster Theater #9 – “On the Run” Edition
Every Wed. at 11AM CST a new edition of Mystery Poster Theater hits MovieZeal. You can set your watch by it.
This week I decided to feature yet another movie poster staple, the “Person On the Run.” There were so many different variations, however, that I decided to chuck a couple extra in this time around. This week there are two easy posters (each worth 1 point) that are RIDICULOUSLY easy and two hard posters (worth 2 points apiece) that may be impossible. Good luck, and happy guessing (also, congrats to Fletch for finally getting on the scoreboard. It’s about time, slowpoke).

THE SCOREBOARD THUS FAR…
Jason – 5
Fox – 5
Eric – 3
redison – 3
taybo20 – 2
Joseph Demme – 2
Fletch – 2
Sarah – 1

So, 1 point for taybo20 for The Sound of Music, and 1 point for Sarah for No Country For Old Men. That’s a ‘no’ on all of the harder guesses, however.

Nope, I got nothing for the Hard ones, either. Hint?

Geez, Eric, spot on. Did you do a deal with the devil to get that one? I didn’t realize people even knew about that film.
Oh, so you want a hint on the other hard one, Fletch? Ok. It’s a film from the ’60s, based on a factual book of the same name. Also, I just realized that the poster I chose is not the actual theatrical poster for the film (although it shares some of the same elements), but the poster that was issued for the film’s re-release in 1980, I believe. However, if you do a Google image search of the film’s name along with “poster,” you’ll see this version on the front page.
Enough of a hint for ‘ya, Fletch?

And Colling gets the final one. Nice guess there, bro.
That covers all of them. I really didn’t think anyone would get Nick of Time…. just goes to show that some people’s grasp of niche pop culture tidbits is much larger than i would have imagined.

When we first started these contests I was kind of ticked that I wrote here and couldn’t compete. Of course the fact that I would only get about 33% of them right makes me feel a little better.

You keep saying that, redison.
and with reason, evan: I AM LOSING. what does not bring me glory, i despise. when the tables turn, so will my feelings. solid stuff there. i approach relationships in much the same way…
this all in jest, of course! mostly.
