The official podcast of MovieZeal.com, where film is always best discussed under the gentle influence of fine wine (as fine as $10 will get you). Each week Evan, Heather, and Luke pick a theme, discuss a theatrical release based on that theme, pop the cork and drink a wine that fits said theme, and finally subject one another to The Gauntlet, where forcing others to watch painful films nets you fabulous prizes. There is not anything else on the internets like it (literally).

Seriously, nice work, Daniel. I believe I will take Evan's command and check out your blog with frequency.

Superbly done Daniel. Thank you for making me regret procrastinating my own Coen musings. You're going to be a tough act to follow.

I don't have a musical background at all and lack the vocabulary to do it justice, but I've always considered Burwell a key to how great the Coens are and I have a feeling the brothers wouldn't argue that point.

I never really knew his background so it never occurred to me that he had no orchestral experience going into Miller's Crossing. Pretty amazing and it's one of my favorites of his.

Looking forward to Part 2.
