MovieZeal featured in the Tulsa World

By Evan Derrick

Never one to pass up a shameless bit of self-promotion, let me direct your clicking fingers to this write-up over at the Tulsa World featuring yours truly and MovieZeal. When they asked me to list my top 5 guilty pleasure flicks, I was more than happy to oblige. Thankfully, they couched the piece in appropriate terms, as I was afraid it would read “Evan Picks 5 All-time Great Films!”, thereby destroying what little credibility I still retain.

Congratulations on this wonderful acknowledgement Evan!! My own ‘guilty pleasures’ are a bit difference, but no less ‘controversial’ shall we say.

I love me some Steve Zahn flicks. I’ll watch anything with him at least once.

Oh, and the rest of your list is pretty good too.

Congrats, Evan. “Tremors” is one of my own favorite flicks as well.

Thanks, Rick, Sam. You really can’t NOT like Tremors, can you? Everyone I’ve talked to so far agrees with that choice wholeheartedly, although not everyone has been on board with my other picks. :)

Very cool…but I’m disappointed that neither “Day of the Triffids” nor “Night of the Lepus” made your top five.

TREMORS isn’t bad at all Evan. You are right there!

It’s been about 15-20 years since I saw either “Day of the Triffids” or “Night of the Lepus,” but I have to admit they hold a special place in my heart. :)

Thanks, Scotty. I’m kind of partial to the picture myself. I’ll be signing autographed copies of it if anyone wants one, just $20 a pop! What a steal!

Tremors is like cinematic comfort food, Sam. It makes you feel oh so warm inside.

I think the best thing is that you appear to be watching Spirited Away on your TV? Sweet.

Yes, yes I am. I wanted to put up an image from “The Rundown”, but I couldn’t find the DVD, and decided to salvage whatever film critic cred I could with a certifiable classic.
