It was a startling moment for me that I wasn't expecting. Christian, you might enjoy it more than I did since you have a built-in appreciation of Thompson. Or, you might just be that much more bored with it. I wasn't an enormous <i>Fear and Loathing</i> fan, but you have to admit it had a consistent style that mimicked the book as best as could be expected. This doc never finds a stylistic groove - it too often looks cheap. For a doc shot in the moment (see <i>Dear Zachary</i>) I can understand that, but for pre-planned biography it's unforgivable.
