FREE Blu-Ray Giveaway of “Southland Tales”
Sony Pictures is releasing Richard Kelly’s mind and genre bending Southland Tales on Blu-ray a week from tomorrow, and MovieZeal has 2 Free Copies to giveaway for whoever is willing to boil his own shoe and eat it (I’ve been on a bit of a Werner Herzog kick, lately). Ok, ok, I’m sure Sony would frown on forced sole consumption, so instead you just have to leave a comment on this post and use a valid email address (I know, how boring is that?). You are then eligible, and a week from today I’ll randomly select two of you to receive a copy of the film.
I just realized that Southland Tales pairs my favorite duo from The Rundown together again – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Sean William Scott. It also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, Jon Lovitz, John Larroquette, Kevin Smith, Amy Poehler, Janeane Garofalo, and freaking Justin Timberlake. Is there anyone who isn’t in this film? It’s a meta-meta mash-up involving nuclear war, the PATRIOT Act, song-n-dance numbers, and screenplays about the end of the world. One of those must-be-seen-to-be-believed films. The critics gave it quite the drumming, but it had vocal supporters, including Nathan Lee of the Village Voice who named it “The Best film of 2007.”

I’m probably the only one that can currently say this, but I already own a copy of it (in the non-fancy format – plain ole DVD).
So I’ll call myself ineligible, and congratulate the winner, who will likely sell it on eBay or use it as a coaster or something. There’s a lot of hate for Southland out there…
