Just so people don’t think I’m slacking in my duties here…

I use Amazon’s release list because they generally seem to be the most accurate (BoxOfficeMojo, for instance, gets it wrong constantly). As far as I can tell, 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days is not available for purchase yet. Perhaps Netflix has some kind of first-look deal? And I checked on Funny Games as well. It’s available now, but it wasn’t available when I wrote this post…you could only purchase the original Haneke version.

So, not sure what’s up with all of that…I’ll have to be sure to doublecheck next time.

Yeah, and I think the remake of Funny Games got released on DVD last week as well…but I’m sure Evan didn’t want to promote that one.

Just for the record, I have never used that phrase. But Luke does make some good breakfast foods. Mmmm.

And to stay on topic…having seen “Be Kind” and “Fool’s Gold,” I’d have to say I enjoyed both of them while watching and for a few days after, but both were ultimately forgettable.

Daniel, I haven’t actually seen Be Kind Rewind yet, which is why it goes to the top of the list. I’m going to watch it this week, although I’m prepared to be disappointed, especially given my fawning adoration of Gondry.

And Luke, stop trying to bait me. I’m not going to watch Fool’s Gold…unless you make me pancakes. Lots and lots of pancakes. Then I’ll reconsider.

Thanks for the send, Evan. I haven’t seen Roscoe Jenkins but your ranking order seems dead on for La Misma Luna. I could have been a lot harder on it but I guess I was in a good mood.

Same can’t be said for Be Kind, unfortunately. It just never achieved its potential for me, and the whole electricity thing (in addition to the vomiting) really made me scratch my head.

Skipped Caramel because it looked exactly as soap-operaish as you describe it. Lemme know if it’s not, whoever’s seen it.

For the record, there are a handful of explosions in Fool’s Gold. They’re of the “low-budget” variety, but they get the job done.

Bit of a weak release week from my point of view. Be Kid Rewind was enjoyable, but I’m not sure I need to see it again. Think I’ll just rent some more Samurai films for the weekend!
