I've never seen any of his work, but it sounds like the kind of thing I have a hard time appreciating. For example, I really don't enjoy Lynch's work (apart from his more grounded fare, such as <i>The Elephant Man</i>), and I know there are strong parallels between him and Maddin, at least stylistically. And yes, this week is wicked weak (alliteration for the win). Although I have heard wonderful things about the Ali doc, which is why it went to the top of the list. And I remember liking <i>Mac and Me</i>, but that was when I was 8. My tastes have changed slightly since then. I have a feeling I will dislike Maddin intensely. Glad to see that Haiku Madness is spreading. Wow this week is super weak. One film I'd like to add, that I haven't seen yet, but am salivating all over myself in anticipation.
