Great review. I’m with you on this one. I’m a 15 year old high schooler, and yet, I still loved this movie. It had enough comedy to get me to notice it, and a really good story line that got me hooked into it (It also helps that I find Bolt really, really cute!).

I hope you enjoy it, Daniel. I’m the only one I know of who’s given it a perfect score, but it really did affect me more than any other film so far this year. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect, but I’m pretty sure almost everyone will get something out of it.

Comparing this film to WALL-E is a bit of an apples-and-oranges situation, since WALL-E was a serious attempt at art, whereas this one is more of a craftman’s piece. It won’t go down in history, but it’s an excellent film. I made the decision early on to not harp on the comparison…I tire quickly of the Movie-X-is-Better-Than-Movie-Y-but-Not-as-Good-as-Movie-Z Game.

Rick, I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed. Hopefully, we’ll get another High School Musical soon.

I’m not asking you to open up any can of worms yet, but BOLT, (which is a fine animated film) is nowhere in a league with WALL-E, which is a legitimate contender for film of the year. Still, it’s nice this film has received such an excellent review.

Luke, a typically fine review. I’m with you: I’m rooting for the Mouse. For a person of my (cough) age, Disney was a constant growing up, from the sometimes cheesy live-actioners to the animated classics to the not-so-classic. In my mind’s eye, in those days Disney could do little wrong. I hope they recover (once again).
